Find or rekindle your love for running…

Would you like to be able to run efficiently and effectively without pain, and reduce the risk of injury? Do you have a goal you have set yourself? 5 km, 10 km, ½ marathon or a marathon?

Do you just want to lose weight and improve fitness? Whichever of these it might be, I can help you reach your goals.

I have been running for over 18 years and it has changed my life. I have met amazing friends, been to and seen incredible places, achieved goals and surprised myself with what I have been able to achieve.

I started running with the goal to lose weight and get fit. I built myself up to 5 km and now I run marathons and ultra-marathons. My new goal became to run 100 marathons which would qualify me to join the 100 club which I achieved recently. Over the years my purpose for running has transformed from losing weight and getting fit to enjoying the experience, meeting inspiring people, setting new challenges, feeling alive and one with nature, sleeping better and feeling fit and healthy.

I fell in love with the journey and 6 years ago I became a running technique coach and leader in running fitness in order to help others do the same. Please get in touch if you would like to join a couch to 5 km beginners’ group, have a 1-2-1 session personally tailored to your needs or work out a plan to achieve to your goal.

What my clients are saying…

I have been running on and off for about 12 years following an IT Band injury I picked up after completing a half marathon in 2007. I had attempted interval runs but never built them up to a full run due to the lack of motivation and recurring IT Band pain.

I approached Zophanie in September 2018 to see if she would run with me and she gave me some coaching sessions. During the first session, Zophanie completely changed my running technique and I could immediately feel the difference. During the following sessions,

I continued to work on my technique and because of changing it; I no longer suffer from IT Band pain. Zophanie is very passionate about running and yoga.

She is very motivating and gives lots of encouragement and support. Since my coaching sessions with Zophanie, I feel much more motivated and I have now run two organised 10k runs and plan to keep on running.

Thank you Zophanie.

Karen

As I approached the big 50 I, like many people my age, decided it would be a great idea to do a triathlon.

On paper it sounded easy, I can swim and ride a bike but I had never run for more than a bus in my life. Luckily I knew Zophanie from swimming at Charterhouse so we had a little chat and she convinced me that a 5k run would be achievable if I put my mind and feet to it.

We started meeting once a week and she gave me homework to do in between those meetings. The first session was great with a lot of walking and barely any running, as the weeks went by she encouraged me to run more walk less and by the end of 12 weeks I could run 5k without stopping. The triathlon was a success but I seemed to get bitten by the running bug and continued my weekly sessions with Zophanie.

Each week ran a little further or did track sessions to check our technique. If the weather was really bad we went to the gym and did some treadmill work. The weeks flew by and I started to admit I was now a runner and what do runners do? Of course they run marathons. Zophanie encouraged me to do the Surrey half marathon and dare I say it, it was actually doable so I signed up for The London Marathon the following year.

This was brand new territory but Zophanie broke the training down itno manageable sessions and sure enough within 2 years of not being able to run for 2 minutes I completed the London Marathon.

I cannot recommend her coaching enough, she took time to listen to my concerns and kindly pushed me out of my comfort zone to do something I had never dreamed I was capable of.

After having to give up hockey due to a back injury, I wanted to get to keep fit but not antagonise the injury. Zophanie re-introduce me to running, I joined her track sessions where she improved my technique and gradually built up my stamina.

Zophanie has been a constant support and motivator and I have enjoyed many years of running with her.
